I know, just reading the title is drool inducing but wait till you see the pics! Oh. My! I am a HUGE fan of things that combine sweetness and salt and this is the theme I wanted to go with for my 30th birthday cake- Chocolate Cake with Caramel Buttercream & Pretzels Bits. I have to say, it was a huge hit with the family! It has a few components and takes a little time but it is soooo worth it! The from scratch cake is so light and moist, in part thanks to the use of cake flour rather then ap flour! The caramel buttercream is perfectly sweet and not overpowering. The crushed pretzel bits add the perfect amount of salt and crunch, putting this cake over the top AMAZING!!!
