How do you start your mornings? Mine always start with a double shot of espresso and a splash of half and half. Recently I had the chance to try the new Land O’Lakes® Buttercream Style Half & Half not only in my morning espresso but I used it in my recipe for this perfect Sweet Biscuits with Honey Cinnamon Butter. So delicious and the perfect cool, crisp Fall morning pairing.
As many of you I’m sure, mornings can be really hectic. I know for me once my alarm goes off its hustle time. Getting the boys up, fed, ready for school, lunches and back packs packed. The first thing I do before anything every morning is make myself a double shot of espresso with a splash of rich & creamy half & half.
While shopping at my local Walmart the other day I came across the new Land O’Lakes® Buttercream Style Half & Half and thought I’d give it a try! It is made with an extra rich blend of real milk and cream and is definitely going to become a staple around here. Just that little splash in my double shot espresso and wow, a perfectly smooth, rich and creamy cup of coffee to get me going!
I thought it would be really fun to use the half & half in a biscuit recipe. There is nothing like a homemade biscuit is there? Then I thought why not go with something special for breakfast… Sweet Biscuits with Honey Cinnamon Butter. The cooler Fall weather really makes me think of certain flavors and scents and cinnamon is definitely at the top of that list! I thought that a cinnamon honey butter would be perfect with these sweet biscuits.
The honey cinnamon butter is so easy and adds really wonderful flavor. Its just 2 ingredients- honey with cinnamon mixed right in already and softened butter. You can use this on toast or melted over a big stack of pancakes. Its so easy and just delicious! The warmth of the cinnamon and the sweetness of the honey just melts right into these light and fluffy biscuits. Having a brunch before Thanksgiving dinner? These are great for it… they freeze really well so you can make them ahead of time then pop them in the oven to warm up before serving.
